Reading on-device history without a dashboard

Online dashboards feel convenient until they become the only place you look. Holders who refuse them still need a way to answer a basic question: what did this device send and receive lately?

Start on the device

Most hardware wallets expose a limited transaction list. Walk it slowly. Write dates and approximate amounts in a notebook before you unlock the next device. The goal is a human log, not a spreadsheet race.

Accept incomplete memory

On-device history can truncate. Older firmware may hide details. When CognitiSec runs an activity logging session, unresolved lines are labeled unresolved—never filled with guesses from a website.

Cross-check only what you already trust

Bank wires that funded an exchange years ago can corroborate large buys, but they do not replace device history. Use them as side notes, not as a substitute for looking at the wallet.

When to call for a second pair of eyes

If two devices should show related movements and they do not, stop and schedule a review. Family arguments about “who moved what” are cheaper to settle with a printed log than with assumptions.
